Stuff I sold :
1. second-hand stuff
What a great opportunity to get rid of my junk! Doncha think?
Of course since I'm such a kind soul, I helped some of my friends to get rid of their junk too.
But don't forget, I'm a kind soul with a business-mind (or u can say money-minded if u like), I charged 10% commission for every item i sold.
Philip's shirts. Sorry if I made them look like pasar malam clothes (when they're actually branded) :P
Did I mention there were many booths selling BRAND NEW clothes and accessories?
oh oh! and they had those canggih clothes rack and hangers while all i had was a table and plastic hangers from home.
Talk about competition... so my strategy was...
1st day : Shirts RM15
2nd day : Shirts RM10
2nd day (5 pm): Shirts RM5
I lost a lot of saliva (convincing buyers) and
gained RM 156.60 ^^
*clap clap* Let me syiok sendiri lah, first time doing business you know.
Har-har times
me : do you know where can I get a clothes rack?
Jon : don't you already have a rack?
me : -.-
Jon : What??
me : *laughs*
Jon : *sudden enlightenment* OMG u sick minded girl! I didn't mean that la!
honestly, I thought it was an attempted lame joke. you know..he meant rack as in boobs. Turns out he meant the clothes rack at home. woopsie.
Here's another one..
Guy : How much for this necklace?
Me : RM 7
he bought it.
one hour later...Banner reads : Necklace RM3
Guy : WHAT?! grrrrr! I feel like punching you already (not in a gangster way, don't worry)
Me : Chill chill. Look at it this way, I'm selling these necklaces cheaper because nobody wants to buy them and they're not as nice as the earlier ones. The nicer ones are sold at higher price ma.
Guy calms down.
2. drinks
And this is the part where my boyfriend and i did our first business collaboration.
We sold...Cincau Longan, Sunquick Orange & Sarsi Cincau
Our bestseller is....CINCAU LONGAN
No surprise there, probably the drink in which JieXing put the most effort in.
When i say effort, I mean til the extent he wanted to use longan from the brand PEACE only!
Jon & Jie Xing. look at my beautiful drink signs :P
This is the part where I express my gratitude...
I'd like to thank Lotion (i dunno how to spell ur real name), Phillip, Shereen, Fiona, Lay Hoong, Ah Theng, Vincent, Tiffany, Adeline, Johnny Boy, Su-Ryn, Kah Chong for showing your support by buying our drinks.
If I missed out any names, please please let me know! Don't be shy, I deserve a scolding for being so forgetful.
Thank you Jon, Sherhana, and YE members for helping us out with the sales. I'll be all over the place without you guys!
and last but not least, thanks darling for all the hardwork..planning, budgeting, shopping...
Our club president. I think I shall call her cilipadi.
petite yet extremely capable!
me & the silly hat i failed to sell.
don't mua look french? no?
bonjour? je'taime?
Lessons Learnt
- Get your furniture & fixings ready (e.g. clothes rack, table cloth)
- advertising is crucial! (flyers, word by mouth, banners, anything!)
- label personal stuff to prevent loss (i lost a lot of my stationaries)
- it is very very important to keep your production cost low without any compensation in quality.
like how all primary school essays conclude...
"even though I was tired, I had a lot of fun"
